RINGS!

Check out my progress! I made 15 rings on Monday and my hands are cut UP from the wire! The rings are made of semi-precious stones, vintage clip on earrings, beads and vintage buttons.
I am also working on pricing all of my jewelry for the show. It is a very daunting, tedious task! But worth it : )

Massage

Yesterday was a long day... I started off at the library using the wireless, then headed to the Arkansas Arts Center for class. In class I worked on some hammered copper findings and a hammered copper cuff bracelet that I will embellish with beads.
After class I had a wonderful massage by my friend Cora. Visit www.littlerockdoulas.com to check out what Cora does in addition to massage. I highly recommend her massage therapy! My neck and back get all out of whack from sitting at my work table and hunching over it. I could probably remedy this if I had a few more square feet in my house... but I deal with it for now.

Today I am working on my "artist statement," resume and portfolio of work to send to the Arkansas Arts Council. They offer $4000 artist fellowships each year and this year I am submitting to the "Contemporary and Traditional Crafts" competition. The winners of this  years awards will be announced in September, so everyone cross your fingers for me!

Arkansas Times

I wanted to share my first (and only) editorial ad in the Arkansas Times... My wonderful boss at Argenta Bead took out an ad and got an editorial spot with it and featured one of the classes I am teaching this month. Thanks a million Ellie!

This will be fun because we will be taking apart old, broken, and/or out of style jewelry and turning it in to something new and exciting to wear. If your interested in joining us for this class contact me at brandy.elizabeth@gmail.com

Blog one, Jewelry two

Hello, welcome to my blog...
I am SO new to this. I am setting up facebook pages, myspace pages, twitter pages, blogs and Heather (of www.lushinnovative.com) is setting up a brand spanking new website for me... and to top it all off I am starting all of it fresh with a new MAC book.
For those of you who don't know me, I am Brandy, I design jewelry, work at a bead store (so I can supply my bead stash) and wait tables (so I can pay my bills). I started Bella Vita Jewelry in January of this year (2009) and have been very successful thus far. The name means "beautiful life" in Italian, I used these words partly because I am Italian and partly because I think beautiful designs (in jewelry, clothing, space etc...) lead to a beautiful lives.

I will be posting new jewelry designs by me, inspirational images, news about the business and me, updates on sales and pretty much anything that I think is cool!
So stay tuned!!!
